Bellerose Biere Blonde Extra Award-Winning Beer 33CL Bottle 6.5% Vol
At first glance it’s hard to miss the lady image tastefully adorned across the bottle with a feel from the 1950’s; maybe from an era of early movies, this you will find unsurprising as you read more, alternatively you could easily imagine the same image on a old bomber like the Memphis Belle. However in-fact it is a very modern new beer from Brasserie Des Sources (Brewery of the Springs) which was founded in 1997 by four friends including actor Gérard Depardieu, hence maybe the classy appearance. The brewery is located in the unlikely setting of a former slaughterhouse and is gaining popularity and reputation worldwide.

Bellerose Biere Blonde Extra is a cross between a French “Biere de Garde” and an IPA.
IPA stands for India Pale Ale, a beer style within the broader category of pale ale. It was first brewed in England in the 19th century. Beers identifying themselves as IPAs typically smell and taste of hops, are gold to amber in color, and lack the roasted character of darker beers. No surprise that England were pioneers with brewing beer only to have it stolen by the French, but we forgive them as they brew such good beers..
Bière de Garde (“beer for keeping”) is a strong pale Ale or a keeping beer traditionally brewed in the Nord-Pas-de-Calis region of France. These beers were originally brewed in farmhouses during the winter and spring, to avoid unpredictable problems with the yeast during the hot summertime. t Bière de Garde brewers are still small businesses.
Bellerose is brewed with three distinct hops from three different continents to impart distinctive aromas of citrus and litchi with a hoppy but refreshing aftertaste. Its initial appearance is dirty Blonde with a rocky creamy head which once settles lasts unlike many mainstream lagers. A more interesting drink with citrus tones, rosy Lychee comes through and some cloves and spices. This beer is lightly Carbonated and light bodied with a dry finish.
Bellerose Biere Blonde Extra won a gold medal at the 2011 and 2012 IBC (International Beer Challenge) in London, this is not easy with strong competition from around the world. To complement its achievement at the IBC Bellerose has also been awarded the gold medal in the “Top-fermented Lager” category, reaffirming its status as an exceptional beer. Unbelievably this is first time a French beer has been awarded consecutive gold medals at the IBC. French are master at brewing lagers many which are fermented with Champagne yeast.
Bellerose Biere Blonde Extra is a beer which stands for excellence and luxury and would be found in most classy French cafes and restaurants.
